Your Ac might be cooling your room but it's heating the planet.

Gaura Devi, Sudesha Devi and Bachni Devi.You may have read this name in your high books but ofcourse you don't remember them now.These were the champions of Chipko movement.The movement which was aimed at protecting trees,Trees that protect earth and its environment.Trees make this planet habitable.We owe to trees with every breath we take.But we Humans are such an ungrateful species on the face of this planet that what we gave her in return?- GLOBAL WARMING.

Its 21st century,I don't think anyone would be so naive to not know about Global warming today but still I will define it.Global warming is the rapid increase in temperature of earth due to increase in emission of greenhouse gases.These gases trap harmful UV rays coming from sun in earth's atmosphere and causes rise in temperature.Moreover these gases destroys ozone layer which acts as a protective barrier against harmful radiations of sun.Many animals,plants and insect species could not cope with this unfavourable change and have gone extinct and many more are on the verge of it.Icebergs and glaciers are melting and hence the rise in sea level which has caused floods amd tsunamis in various parts of the world.The is going to get even worse.Indonesia has shifted its capital from Jakarta as it's speculated that Jakarta will submerge under water in future..Many countries like UAE and Bahrain have put restrictions on working outdoors from 1pm to 4pm in summers to prevent skin cancer and other diseases that are caused by the heatwave.The hole in Ozone layer is also the result of greenhouse gases and its really concerning that the size of the hole is increasing day by day.

Humans being are called social animals.We are considered animals who are the most intelligent type of species on earth.We can do things that no other animal could do.We can think,reason and resolve.But these statements are contradictory to our actions.What kind of "Intelligent" person would cut the branch he's sitting on.That is what we are doing.We are destroying the very home we live in.We leave to work from home and our car emits SO2 and NO2,At work our factories emit these same gases in way larger number and when we return home,tired and exhausted from whole day's work,we switch on our Ac which releases the most fatal Cholroflurocarbons.That is our average day.That is our lifestyle.

Global warming is an outdated name for this problem as it way past the warming stage now.Earth's temperature is heating at an alarming rate.Cutting down of forests and  Dependency on machinery are fueling this problem rapidly.

What if I give you a big pile of gifts and then ask you to light them on fire and jump into it?You will call me mental ill or insane.Well,Thats what We're doing right now.Nature has given us many gifts such as air, water,fossil feuls etc,but we're putting it all on fire with heat caused due to global warming and its we are going face the consequences in the long run.Humans have the audacity to live on this planet,use its natural resources for his own means and then pollute and degrade it to the worst level.Greed and ignorance has blinded our souls.We want more and we want it sooner.This has led to deterioration of environment.Political agendas have kicked in.You may have heard of the infamous Aaray controversy.Maharasthra govt. Approved to remove 800 acres of forest to build a metrorail project.Nearabout 5 lakh trees were to be cut down to make a carshed parking.Just think about the time it would take for those trees to regrow if planted.Is this the development we want?But hats off to the commendable job the local did.They went to Array and protested vigorously.They made people aware about it.Soon whole country supported this noble action.As a result, Court ordered to Stop the cutting of the forest.Array still exist and blossam.Millions of species still dwell there as i write this note.So maybe everything isn't that bad.The support of such a large number of people proves that we know what's right.Maybe we just hesitate to do anything because our personal interests are not met if we stand for the environment.

Its about time we should introspect.we need to realise and accept our mistakes and do something to amend them.It doesn't cost us anything but it rewards back majorly.Temporary comfort will only live for so long.Your Ac might be keeping your room cool but its heating this planet.We need to educate people around us.We need to stand in solidarity for the welfare of the nature.Its guaranteed that a little discomfort today will give us great comfort tomorrow.So take a step and let's take this devil down.Long live Mother nature.

A speck of dust.In vast universe of infinite limits which have millions of galaxies and each galaxy have millions of planets and stars and other celestial bodies,what we are,is a speck of dust.A speck of dust that is so insignificant in size what we are in this vast emptiness around us that we call universe.You know what's bigger than this Universe?
