We have become empty. We wake up, do the daily chores and we go to bed to do the same thing the next day. We have become monotonous. We don't have wars to fight, we have evolved and moved past that era a long time ago. In the past, we went to war. Honour and beliefs were not only words coming out of the mouth. We would sacrifice our lives to protect them, to live by them. We had a collective sense of community. Families were not just limited to blood. Selflessness was not out of fashion. Now the times have changed. We have become self centred. Everybody is living to contribute to oneself rather than the community or the surroundings. We have our own personal goals and aims. Honour has become ego and beliefs are the lies that political parties use to gain advantage. We have regressed.
Earlier we had a sword in our hand and our enemy was in front of us, on the other side of the battlefield. Our nerves would spit fire and we would muster all the courage to fight to protect our honour.
Now, we do have a sword in our hand but the enemy is not our sight. It is no longer on the other side of the battlefield. Now he is standing over our shoulder in the behind, whispering things in our ear, making us insecure and sacred. We cannot recognise the voice of the imposter. Incited by the whisper, paranoia hits and we swing the sword in hand, blindly to the invisible enemy. As a result, we end up cutting ourselves, thousand cuts, oozing blood in and out. Now we have thousands of open wounds for the enemy to poke and whenever someone even slightly touches the cut, it hurts, it hurts to the point that we cannot bear. We retaliate, all injured physically and paranoid mentally. We have now become vulnerable.
Don't be vulnerable. Don't let the voice win. Don't let the insecurity insinuate or even if you have hurt yourself, heal. Learn to bear and endure. Be patient with the pain. Time will heal the wounds if you stop touching them. Licking them sometimes is alright.
